Happy Anniversary to MBPS - Where did that 15 years go…
Whilst our saying this week is in keeping with our journey and celebration of 15 years as MBPS, I have reversed the order of our Newsletter to speak of ‘What’s on in Business’, as I did get a little carried away with my ‘preamble’…
So, in Sales this week, we have another New Listing, a 2 bedroom low floor centre apartment in Xanadu East. This apartment is ideal for those who prefer the lower floor apartments, with the bonus of ocean views. For those of you who do not know the Xanadu apartments, they are a very spacious 149m2, which is larger than most 3 bedroom apartments in new builds these days. We will feature next week, once photography is obtained, if not sold beforehand… In the meantime, please call for further information or to arrange a private inspection at any time.
Featured below is Apartment 171 Belvedere. If you are following the market in Main Beach you may have noted that whilst prices are not declining, days on market are in some cases are ‘extended’. This is one such case and the sellers are very keen to move to their next home. The property is near new and is pristine – again my favourite word… Where can you buy a new 3 bedroom apartment, with views, 2 side by side car spaces and separate storage in Main Beach for $2.1 million? We are Open for Inspection this coming Saturday at 11:30am to 12:00 pm, or the apartment is available to view at any time by appointment.
Also, in Sales - I just received a call from one of our locals who is looking to purchase a Villa in Main Beach and has requested that we ‘commence the search’ … So, if you are the owner of a Villa and you are considering downsizing, please call to arrange an ‘obligation free’ appraisal. It would be good to put the ‘jig-saw-puzzle’ pieces together again…
Now to where I began this morning – or rather to where MBPS began 15 years ago…
The single step that began the ‘journey’ of MBPS was when my husband and I saw the potential in an agent, who we found had the qualities that we wanted in an agent – honest, friendly and knowledgeable, without the ‘gloss’ - a rare find in a Real Estate Agent on the Gold Coast...
I read once that the secret to longevity and success in business is “Simple: surround yourself with talented, dedicated people who share your vision." It is those people who I would like to congratulate –
Carmen Uruchurtu, that honest, friendly and knowledgeable, rare agent, who was the original Principal Licensee of MBPS – yes, Carmen who is still with us today… Fortunately for me, Carmen realised, within weeks of us setting up the business, that she did not want “the responsibility of the business”, but rather she wanted to concentrate on ‘selling’ and of course, that is what she does best – SELL! Thank you Carmen not only for being part of the fabric of MBPS, however, for handing me my then ‘new’ career. Etched in my mind is Carl, my late husband, turning to me at that point in time and saying “looks like you are going to be a Real Estate Agent” – it was clearly ‘meant to be’…
Wendy Callaghan – 14 years with MBPS as our “Director of First Impressions”. We knew Wendy from the reception at Xanadu – again, I vividly recall Carl saying “I know just the right person …” Well, he was right, as always! Thank you Wendy for all you do and your gorgeous, warm welcoming smile and personality, which is a great part of our success. In addition, Wendy went on to become ‘the Duck stylist’ for those who do not know us, that is a story for another day and the ‘provider of treats to the local dogs’ – again, a story for another day…
Then there is Cathy Kershaw, who joined us 10 years ago (yes, long service is due this year) as our Administration Manager, with years of knowledge and experience in both Sales and Property Management. Thank you Cathy for your unfailing loyalty and endurance!
Not to mention Jennifer Gow, who joined us 7 years ago at the young age of 71 – yes, that makes her now 78… Jennifer is amazing – she is the ‘vivacious’ one at the front desk of our Property Management Division. Again, her work ethics, personality, let alone her knowledge and eye for detail are invaluable. Thanks Jen!
Then we have David Sheekey, our Leasing and Maintenance Manager, who has been with us for 3 years and Robby Murray our Property Management Administrator, who joined the Team 2 years ago. Thank you for the vital roles you play in Property Management.
In more recent years Celine Slee joined us as our Operations Manager – I believe that means to keep us all in some co-ordinated state – in particular me… Celine, a young business woman in her own right, is what all businesses need – a country girl, with a mature brain on young shoulders. She achieves in a focused, calm cool and collected manner – a stabiliser, amongst other things. Thank you Celine for keeping the ship balanced!
Our most recent addition to the team is Rhonda Hendicott, who is now our new Sales Support Team member – a very important role, which includes our Social Media, marketing, etc. Rhonda has a vast background in Marketing and Event Management. We look forward to drawing on Rhonda’s experience and expertise to make our ‘busyness’ even more productive. Thank you for taking the role Rhonda.
I would like to thank all of our Team Members present and past, who are the fabric of our success!
I would also like to thank all of our clients over the past 15 years, who have created our success and without whom we would not be here today! Whether a Seller or Buyer, without both parties, we would not have succeeded – THANK YOU to everyone who is reading this Newsletter!
Some years ago a friend provided me with a catch phrase that, whilst a little ‘corny’ I liked – “No stress, only success with MBPS!”
Like all Anniversaries, we would like to finally celebrate the creation, resilience and success of MBPS and invite anyone who would like to be part of our year of celebration to join us. We are planning to hold multiple gatherings throughout the year to cater for those absentee ‘locals’ who may like to attend. The first of which will be on the 1st of April. The events will be simple, casual drinks and nibbles, at The Venue, above MBPS at 25 Tedder Avenue. Please RSVP via the link below and let the celebrations begin!
Please do not miss your Open Homes tomorrow, prior to your Valentine's Day Lunch!
Have a great weekend!
Very best wishes,
Annette and the MBPS Team
