What more can we say…

Where/how do you start a Newsletter amidst the current situation in our Community, our Country and the World? That has been my quandary over the past few days – thus the odd timing of our Newsletter…

We, of course like everyone, have been trying to ‘do the right thing’… Not just by ‘distancing’, but by turning our office into a “Remote Business”. It sounds a little strange for a Real Estate office, however, we have taken the initiative of going remote sooner rather than later. As the sign on our door says, “OPEN BUT CLOSED”. We made this decision more for our community, because as you know we have ‘close’ relationships with both the general public and our locals, who are part of our Village Community. This does not mean that we are away, or on holiday, we are still here and continuing to ‘do business remotely’… I believe the sign on our door says it all – so please see the image below.

As part of the process, our dear friend and local, Shelley Long of ShelleVision has prepared ‘Virtual Tours’ of a number of our listings. There are other properties that were not available, which we will endeavour to complete this week. Also, as bad as I am in front of a camera and at public speaking – I attempted to explain our readiness to “go remote” on a video, which we intended publishing on our website and then felt it was not appropraite to do so at this stage.  However, I have linked it below, as it features a number of our Team members.

In addition to all that has been going on in the background, we have had two settlements this week and a New Listing.

Featured below is a new listing in the waterfront building Yachting Towers. A spacious and well proportioned 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment with a desired tandem 2 car space. Our settlements were the Xanadu Apartments, where we put those pieces of the Jigsaw together – moving the Sellers of one (Apartment 21) into another (Apartment 116), so they became the Buyers and a Buyer into their apartment, so they then became the Sellers… The apartments were not on the market and one was, in fact, about to ‘go live’ with another agent, who kindly invited us to do a conjunction sale with them prior to going to market – the deal was done virtually overnight – oh, there is that word ‘virtual’ again… Congratulations to the very happy Sellers and Buyers in both cases!

As you know we are not conducting Open Homes for now, however, we are available for private inspections any time.

Our Property Management Team is also working remotely, with a ‘couple of hands on deck’ to facility access for maintenance, etc. when necessary. Once again, they are facilitating private tenant’s inspections. So, please see our Properties for Lease below.

Our sales office is also ‘manned’, behind closed door, at this time…

We are very positive that we, Australia as a whole, will work together to overcome this Pandemic, so please stay safe and well!

Oh, and don’t forget to get your daily exercise, with at least one walk a day – if possible!! And, although we must keep our distance it is amazing how far a smile can travel… For a lot of people, it may be the only smile they will see that day! I have also invented the ‘virtual hug’, but be careful that you are not like me without my long-distance glasses on and ‘hugging’ a stranger… My intention was that when you see someone you know well but cannot greet as usual – greet them with your arms out to the sides, as if you were going in for a ‘hug’ or ‘greeting’ and have a ‘virtual hug’ instead. Oops, I have hugged a couple of people by accident… This my morning when I thought I saw someone I knew very well coming the other way, I gave him my ‘virtual hug’ – he looked down and walked straight on pass – I am sure he is still wondering what that was all about. A case of mistaken identity…

Tedder Avenue as would be expected, is very quiet at the moment. Although, the locals are still out and about – at a distance - supporting the local Cafés and Restaurants, who are all providing takeaway meals and coffee. We are attempting to eat and drink our way around as many as possible…

The Friendly Grocer, right next door to us here at MBPS is, of course, still open with ‘slightly’ reduced hours – Now opening from 6:30 am to 6 pm, every day of the week! Don’t forget they carry almost anything you could need, including fresh fruit and vegetables and meats, chickens, etc.

The 7-Eleven on Main Beach Parade also continues to open 24 hours.
