Our saying this week is very appropriate given the MBPS Team’s attendance at a Rotary fund raiser in the early hours of this morning – 6:30 am… That is Teamwork! The cause of our early get together made it all the more worthwhile and is also in keeping with our saying - The “Rotary Breakfast with Gemma Sisia – Making dreams a reality”
In 2002 Gemma, with Rotary’s support, founded The School of St Jude in Tanzania with 3 students with a view to fighting poverty through education. With the continuing support of Rotary the school now educates 1,800 students through academic scholarships across a primary and secondary campus, achieving the top results in the country. They support hundreds of graduates through higher education and provide ten thousand, plus, Tanzanians with quality teaching each year. We have had a couple of very busy week here at MBPS and I believe I speak for all of our Team, in saying it feels a little like the ‘bubble is going to burst’ – not in a bad way, but in a very positive way. There have been so many ‘things’ happening, with lots of enquiry and inspections…

Mardi Gras time!
The Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras, at one stage temporarily the Sydney Mardi Gras, ... It includes a variety of events such as the Sydney Mardi Gras Parade and Party, Bondi Beach Drag Races, ... panel Queer Thinking, Mardi Gras Film Festival, as well as Fair Day, which attracts 70,000 people to Victoria Park, Sydney.
The Festival has been in full swing since the 14th February and will culminate with the big parade on Saturday 29th February 2020.
As usual, Mr. Jeeves has been ‘styled’ for the occasion!

It would appear that the fit-outs for the new ‘Deli’ and the ‘Art Gallery’ are almost complete and they will both be opening in Tedder Ave very shortly.
The general feel is that 2020 is going to be a great year for Main Beach – the beginning of a ‘new decade’ and the revitalization of Main Beach. As we understand, there are plans afoot to have more ‘street parties’, like the last minute Christmas party in the street, which was a great success, so watch this space…

The first annual HOLLER at HOTA celebrates the best of Queensland’s Americana artists. The Gin Club will be playing their only show in the Sunshine State here on the Gold Coast, in a huge event for Americana fans of Queensland.
