It was the lack of integrity in business that sadly we all experience from time to time, that found our saying this week. Then I realised that the lack of integrity by others brings success to those with integrity! So, as often I say, “turn every negative into a positive”. I believe integrity is our foundation and worthy of mentioning…
I also came across another saying by R. Buckminster Fuller which I enjoyed - “You can never learn less, you can only learn more”. Again, very apt in our business… I have learnt that life is one big lesson and we never stop learning!
Another busy week at MBPS, with a New Listing, ‘hot off the press’ - a beautiful 3 bedroom apartment in Calais, a boutique residential only complex, 100 metres from Tedder Avenue and 400 metres to the beach. The apartment will be featured next week once we obtain photographs.
Apartment 30 Xanadu East went under ‘conditional’ contract this week, so congratulations to the Sellers, Buyers and to Carmen, who facilitated the sale.
One of those ‘jig-saw puzzles’ we speak of was also completed yesterday with the Contract on Apartment 6 ‘Carrington Court’ settling - Congratulations to the Seller and Buyer and again to Carmen, who literally brought the parties together - the apartment never ‘hit’ the market…
We are a little late in announcing the “Veranda Bar”, which opened recently upstairs at 25 Tedder Avenue, right next door to our Property Management office. It is beautifully appointed and has a real ‘good feel’ atmosphere. Oh yes, I did have to visit - now I do not have too far to go for my glass of red and it will beat the office at night, but perhaps not as productive…
In Property Management this week, we have another new listing which will be presented to the market next week. It is a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom townhouse at 100 Moralla Avenue in Runaway Bay, listed at a very reasonable $530 per week.

It is hard to believe a year has passed since last Halloween, when we wrote of its meaning in our Newsletter – Halloween, also known as All Saints' Eve, is not all about ‘trick or treat’, according to my favourite source of information, Wikipedia, it “is a celebration observed in several countries on 31 October, the eve of the Western Christian feast of All Hallows' Day. It begins the three-day observance of Allhallowtide, the time in the liturgical year dedicated to remembering the dead, including saints (hallows), martyrs, and all the faithful departed.”

From face-painting to makeup workshops, spontaneous ‘freak show’ acts, Cosplay and Costume Competitions, trick or treat offerings, games and a frightful array of 18+ Halloween parties across the precinct, Surfers Paradise Fest-Evil has it all. This safe and family-friendly event offers something for all ages.
The spookish fun begins on All Hallows’ eve, a night where the kids can learn the ghoulish ways of a zombie, bust a move to Thriller, play games and participate in the official Costume Character Competition at the child-friendly show at the official Fest-Evil stage in Cavill Mall. Of course, there’ll be trick or treating too! Come if you dare in your favourite Halloween wear.
Featured within Fest-Evil is the Surfers Paradise Zombie Walk which showcases a parade of Zombie Walk enthusiasts. All zombie walkers will have a chance to be crowned King or Queen in the annual Costume Competition as well as dancing the night away in the Post Parade Street Party.
